2026 Boots For Babes Campaign needs Your Help

Our Boots for Babes Campaign is in full swing, and you could help by sponsoring a student with new shoes this winter.
How many pairs of shoes are in your closet? Many of the kids West Virginia's Helping assists only have one pair of shoes. Their shoes are worn out, handed down, too big or too small, some are even held together by tape. I know it is hard to believe there are kids right here in WV that have so little, but we see it every year. In addition, the Boots for Babes program provides not only shoes, but each shoe box is filled with socks, toys, personal hygiene items, books, and in some cases when needed, a coat and winter clothing.
West Virginia’s Helping is cost effective with 100% of contributions allocated to helping the kids, no one with our organization is paid. We are a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization.Click Here to go to the Amazon Wish List

About us

Pamela Lindsay founded West Virginia’s Helping after growing up on Charleston’s Westside and recognizing unmet community needs. Following a meeting with the Board of Education in 1998, the program was established to support students in economically challenged areas with shoes and classroom resources. Since 1999, West Virginia’s Helping has provided new shoes to students in Kanawha and Putnam Counties. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, 100% of donations go directly to helping children—our organization is entirely volunteer-run. Through initiatives like Boots for Babes, we serve students who often have only one worn or ill-fitting pair of shoes. Each child receives not only new shoes, but also socks, school supplies, hygiene items, and sometimes coats and winter clothing. These gifts provide more than necessities—they offer dignity, confidence, and joy. Many families we serve are working hard but still struggle to afford essentials, and we are seeing more grandparents unexpectedly raising grandchildren. Your support can make a meaningful difference. When we each do a little, we can accomplish so much together. We only accept shoe requests submitted through schools. We do NOT have the resources to help with utilities or rent assistance.
